"I have a picture I carry in my mind," Omar Faruk Tekbilek reveals. "I call it the 'Tree of Patience.' The road to becoming a professional musician was long and winding, a journey which required a fair amount of patience and acceptance of some unusual situations."
Clearly, the master Turkish musician's patience has paid off. Dance Into Eternity contains Omar Faruk's finest work from the first decade of his successful and acclaimed music career. The compilation includes a previously unissued performance from a WNYC-FM radio concert recorded in New York City in 1990, and a track by one of Omar Faruk's earliest bands, The Sultans, culled from a private release.
"Working with Omar Faruk Tekbilek has been one of the most satisfying musical experiences of my life," says longtime collaborator and producer Brian Keane. He and Omar Faruk helped select the music for this compilation, which reflects some of the finest flowerings of Faruk's Tree of Patience.
