A PERSONAL NOTE FROM DEVA PREMAL & MITEN
Chanting mantras is both a gift and an invitation. As we sing these sacred sounds, we give thanks, while at the same time, opening to God – the Divine.
On a metaphysical level, when we sing, the heart opens. This explains why all religions and traditions use the power of song and chant in their rituals.
And no matter the stress and pressure of daily life, when the heart opens, the pressure and stress are relieved, and consequently we feel relaxed and at peace with ourselves. A respite from the activity of the chattering mind. It is that simple – when the mind is at peace, we areat peace.
Mantras also have a foundationin science. Certain sounds create certain responses in the body, and mantras have been scientifically demonstrated to instill asense of well-being. They are also shown to be a vibrant forcefor healing.
Singing mantras vibrates thecells in our bodies, charging them with energy and promoting physicalhealing.
Miten and I chant in Sanskrit – thelanguage of ancient India, and widely regarded as the mother ofmany modern languages. In Sanskrit, “man” means mindand “tra” means “to free from”; hence, “mantra” isliterally a tool to free the mind.
We invite you to explore thegift of mantra, and discover for yourself the sense of health andwell-being that they will bring to your life.
With love and blessings, DevaPremal & Miten
